Kruger National Park is older than most of the countries its visitors fly in from. It began in 1898 as a small strip of Lowveld bush between two rivers, survived a war, an occupation, a ban on hunting nobody obeyed, and a stubborn Scottish soldier who spent 44 years defending it.
